Inspiration: Colors of the Festival, The Matcha & Murasaki Churro Scarf

There is something magical about the sensory overload of a food festival—the sizzling sounds, the sweet aromas, and, most importantly for a designer, the vibrant colors. My latest scarf was born from exactly one of those moments, inspired by a discovery that was as visually stunning as it was delicious: Matcha and Murasaki Imo (Japanese Purple Potato) Churros.

For me, this inspiration casually, I’ve had to navigate a strict gluten-free diet following a Hashimoto’s diagnosis in March 2025. The one thing I missed most? The perfect, crispy churro. While hunting for a safe alternative at The Vegan Plant Based Gourmet Festival in Tokyo, I found a stall serving naturally gluten-free Matcha and Murasaki Imo churros in the most striking hues I’ve ever seen.

Stay tuned for more stories about what
inspires my designs.
